Well Rested

Well, I knew I was feeling a bit on the tired side last night but I didn't realize to what extent.

Here is my problem with having to be to work by 6 am daily - It messes with my bodies natural internal clock.  I have never been a morning person and I hate going to bed before 10 or 11.
My natural ebb and tide is that no matter what I get sleepy somewhere around noon and snap out of it somewhere around 3.  Actual times may vary but it's always in that time frame.  Come 8-9 at night I start to become fully awake and have my second wind or whatever it's called.  This allows me to stay up till midnight with no issues.
It's that whole waking up at 4-fucking-thirty thing that really kills me though.  Who invented getting up early because i'd like to kick that guy in the balls (or girl in the vagina - your pick). It's ungodly.

Yesterday was the day that my body decided it was going to catch up on it's rest no matter what I had to say about it.  After dinner I decided to take a short nap so that I could do some things in the evening.  As you can sense by now that never happened.
I woke up once to take a leak and take off my clothes and then back to bed with me.

I think I feel refreshed, more rested but I feel as though if it weren't for that alarm clock thingie I could still be sleeping.  Oh well - the weekend fast approaches so there is no time to worry about sleep.

One thing for certain though - I have to leave for work early today because there isn't enough gas left in my tank to get there.

And I leave you with one last thought.
Interrupting my sleep last night was a text message (forgot I had the volume on my phone so hi) and it only said "Is she pregnant?"
My first thought was - I hope not because that would interfere with me getting into her pants.
My second thought was - Must Sleep Immediately (after turning the volume off).

Very random question with no context before or after it for me to even decipher why it came up or who it could be about.

Now to put on some pants and get a-goin'!

  3. I have the exact same problem. I have to be at work every weekday by 6:00 AM, but I am naturally a night person. I try to force myself to bed by 10:30-11:00 every night, but invariably stay up til closer to midnight. Then I wind up sleeping away half my weekend because I stay up until the wee hours of the morning on Friday night playing poker at the casino or farting around on Xbox Live and sleep until noon the next day. God forbid I actually take a nap in the late afternoon or drink caffeine after 6:00 PM or I'm probably not falling asleep until well after midnight.

    I need a nap...

  4. Nice post - it reminded me of one of my pet peeves... Those people who say, "you can't make up for lost sleep..." My response is always, "if you couldn't, then you would just die..." #geniuses

  5. I retired last year. Before that, I was like you - liked to stay up late and was always sleep deprived. Now I stay up late and sleep late. Don't get up until 10 or 11 -- YES!!

  6. I hardly sleep. I fall asleep at 10:30 or 11pm. Wake up at 2:30 or 3:30am depending on the day. If I'm not working the part time I might nap a hour or three.
