Slow Motion

There is too much going on in my life at this moment, I need a pause button or that superhero power where I can go really really fast and everything else including time itself slows down around me thus allowing me to accomplish all the shit that I need to do in the small time frame that I have available.

Today I went through Orientation for the Casino job and Charlie Brown's teacher invaded my head.  There were lots of words, lots of slides, a few "movies" and some really bad on screen role playing.  It was typical orientation stuff and it was just as boring as pretty much every other one that I have ever gone through before.

So, tomorrow starts the real test. Not only in terms of how will I perform in actual real life circumstances but also in the how I am going to deal with working two jobs and little sleep.
6-3 Retail - 7-3 Casino, 6-3 Retail 7-3 Casino and then sleep my f'n head off on Saturday.

My plan of attack is to get a full 8 hours of sleep tonight. I should be able to make it home by 3:30 after the retail job and get 2 - 2.5 hours sleep before waking up to head into the Casino.  Take another 2 hour nap and head into Retail and see what the hell I can do to get out early to try and get a 3-4 hour nap before heading back to the Casino.

I know there is going to be multiple 5-hour energy drinks involved and there is a chance I will become zombified.  However, the money is going to be great and I know that I'm not too far away from being able to actually do both on a part time basis instead of killing myself with too many hours.

Tomorrow I'm going to be talking to the person in charge of making schedules to see if he/she can help me out in that regard.  Try not to have back to back shifts during the week so that after a double (er, triple?) I can find time to catch up on sleep before doing it again.   At this moment I have a very real fear that taking on this job right now might be stretching myself too thin and it will backfire - but only time can tell that.  At the very least I don't think they would have a problem honoring a request to schedule me less often or let me give a shift away to someone who needs it more.

This weekend I need to find time to start some paperwork for the whole car situation as it appears as though I'm going to have to at least threaten to take someone to court to get some money out of them.

Lastly, I received what I think (hope) is the final set of paperwork that has to be filled out to get the house situation taken care of.  I'll be looking over it all this weekend to see what all I need to do/sign/gather/provide.

Where is that damned slow motion button!

  1. Good luck grrouchie, going to be a rough stretch. You are better off not drinking that junk 5-hr energy, pure b/s.

    1. Some people hate it and some people swear by it.
I know I'm going to start taking a daily vitamin and continuing to eat better so that I can lose weight and have more natural energy. That's probably the only "real" solution!

  2. 5 hour energy contains a superboost of vitamins and very little caffeine. It is NOT junk, or unhealthy. It has different effects on everybody, so don't rely on it, but it certainly isn't junk.

    1. Yeah - I"m going to rely on a natural high to make it through my first evening.
My second evening - I'm thinking supernatural intervention!

    1. I'd rather cook it than use it - this way I can at least make money and then really wouldn't have to worry about something as small as a few thousand bucks.

    1. Diet Mt Dew Rob.
Though I've been drinking so much of it for years that it really doesn't affect me very much.
      It's just a damned tasty beverage :)

    1. Amen to this! I may or may not have an open 24 oz. bottle of this on my desk with two sitting in reserve right this minute thanks to staying up late to help my son edit his final paper for one of his college ed classes. (The answer to that was may, not may no...in case that was unclear.)

  6. Is there any chance that you can take random days off at the 'old' job so as not to jeopardize the 'new' job by asking for a lighter schedule? Have a great shift tonight!

    1. I am full time at my other job but am looking at solutions.
Also job #2 knew I was full time elsewhere and just looking for a couple days a week currently - this was discussed before they ever told me I was hired.
I'm just asking for 3 instead of four days currently. I am sure there are part timers who would really love and need those hours.

    3. Everything answered through email, only somethings through blog.

Some info I don't want out to the general public OR my employer. I'd rather them not having another method to track me :)
