Dear Rob Thanks for the ...

Dear Rob (admin and all around swell guy at Robvegaspoker),

I am writing to tell you that I really appreciate your contribution to the get grrouchie rich quick scheme that I am trying to develop. While you may have paid $200 for your blog post you have done something even greater.  You contributed to my "Play video games really loud at night and not disturb the peace" fund.

Yes, that is right.  With some of your contributions to the grrouchie fund you bought the following.

This is for my Playstation 3 gaming and entertainment system

This is for my Xbox 360 gaming system

MmMmmm - Special Edition

Of course, me being a big cheap ass that I am I did not pay full price for any of the above (especially the titties - never pay full price for titties is a lesson I have learned multiple times).  I got them all on sale and some with even further discounts than normal sale price.  So, Overall I am quite happy with you funding my addictions.

The good news is that it does not end there.  No way Jose.
With your contribution to the "buy shit that I was going to pass on because I didn't have a suga daddy donating lots of benji's to me at the poker table" also has me pre-ordering this for when it is released this coming August.

I have also found a whole bunch of other stuff that I'm interested in getting so I do have one question for you, When are you coming back to town so we can play some more?

(All the above was harmless teasing of dear old Rob.  No Robs were hurt in the making of this blog post but in all honesty it was HIS money that went to buying all that shit - and I still have some left over.)

  1. Rob, I will not return my goodies because that would make me an Indian Giver (to myself).

However, what I will do is admit that I might have been a bit hasty in thinking that all this free money knows no end.

I will probably turn to the big T for financial and poker advice and start fearing that every time I play with you and Prudence that I was going to get mugged (at the table of course) and maybe have to quit my poker career because the games at BSC are too tough.

It will have been nice knowing you at that point and I'm glad we could share some burgers together.
So long and thanks for all the posts. I hope someone keeps the blog torch alive and takes over as the new "local fish"

    Le Sigh

  2. Ooooo...I do love my Turtle Beach headset. It makes the interaction on Xbox 360 multiplayer games so much better. It's also almost an unfair advantage because you can hear things so much better. I swear when I was regularly playing COD4: Modern Warfare I could hear somebody set a claymore mine across the frigging map with those things. Well obviously not that exact model, but the comparable one I bought at the time. I don't play nearly as often as I used to, but you should send me a friend request on there. My gamer tag is xTMinusTenx

    1. These two models are the cheapest models available.
They are normally $59.99 and are wired.
However, where I sit to play I should have no issues with the wire reaching and that won't make a big deal to me. Also, my dog is trained to ignore them and not try to play with them or make friends with the wires.

They are currently on sale for $44.99 AND if you are a member of the Reward Zone Gamers Club (free to join) then you have access to an online coupon for $25 off making them $19.99 each.
My cashier was nice enough to let me make two separate purchases so that I could have the discount on each of them.

so, $120 worth of headsets for $40 bucks - I finally could not find a way to say no to that purchase.

I haven't played a whole lot lately at all but I've learned that as I get older I now go through spurts where I don't play for months at a time and then I'll play every day for months on end.
I'll definitely send you a friend request.
If you get on before I do feel free to add me
      grrouchie
      same as here.
Do you play Gears of War? Or Borderlands and (soon as it's released) Borderlands 2?

    2. I haven't played either of those, but if they're good and there's the chance to be social I'd give them a try. I've mostly stuck to sports games like Madden, FIFA, and Tiger Woods and the usuals like Halo and Call of Duty.

    3. Maybe this will be reason to pick up Madden again this year.

    4. JT I'm adding your Gamertag.

  3. How much did you pay for the Xbox 360 headset? My son's recently broke! Oooo I can't WAIT to play with Rob...and um...be sure to save the rest of his money for when we play baby! You're going to need it.

    2. Heh heh.....my plan is working. Now everyone thinks I'm an easy mark, so just by playing reasonably decent poker next month, I will catch you all by surprise--yes even YOU, Josie, even if you are wearing your "poker outfit"--and take all your money.

      Heh heh.

    3. I can't wait till you beat Josie at strip poker. Going to be an epic night.

    4. Boy when we face off for that, I will have the biggest cheering section I've ever had. Not bjust ecause they want Josie to lose, but because the result of my losing is too awful to comtemplate.

Although now that I think about it, within the first 15 minutes of meeting Prudence, she did ask me to take my shirt off.

    5. Rob, "reasonably well" will not cut the mustard. Not even fucking close. And no stip poker! Well.....I'll think about it!

    6. I can't wait to stack you while never taking my eyes off your breasts :)

Every time we're in a hand together I'm just going to focus on them and smile and then stack your chips up a mile high!

Oh, I can't wait till the girls are in town

    7. Josie, I just need to play "reasonably well" against the rest of these clowns, especially grrouchie.

I might just fold every hand I get if you're in a pot unless it's 2-4.

    5. Si Senior,
Just was unsure of which movie it actually came out of so I didn't throw out a response.
also - want to re-watch the movie (might just be my adding slang to it) but I thought it was "an't no sanity clause"

      Delete
    6. My bad, it IS "ain't" That's what I wrote initially, but then I second guessed myself and changed it to "is no", not sure why I thought that and I was in too much of a rush at that time to double check.

Anyway, it's from A NIGHT AT THE OPERA. The part of the first part is hereby referred to as the party of the first part......

    7. You should have come to the second party. We were out til four in the morning. I was blind for three days.

-Chuck ( who's too lazy to look it up and get it exactly right)

    8. Anyone who quotes THE brothers is alright in my book.

Also, I believe this started out with Chico saying he didn't like the second party then Groucho saying "well you should have come to the 1st"
but, I'm not looking that shit up either.

    2. See. Flops....now do you regret rejecting me for a Turd?

      Delete
    3. Well Rob - to be fair I didn't reject you for a Turd that was a couple of nights after I rejected you ...

      which ldo I regret.

      Delete
    4. A mere technicality, Flops. You avoided me one night when you were a mere few hundred yards from me yet dragged your ass all the way to the freakin' Bellagio just to play with a Turd days later. And I'm supposed to feel good about that? :)

But you know what, with all the abuse being heaped on me over one lousy stinking hand of poker, being rejected for a Turd is actually the high point of this thread.

grrouchie, you won't get a Hot Wheels car out of me next time.
